We Gave Away $15K!
Exciting news! When we attended the Women in the World Summit in April 2013, we received a surprise grant of $15,000 from Toyota USA. We gave that money to our first class of innovative female social entrepreneurs, and they used the money to do things like hire staff for a girl’s center in India and buy sewing equipment to increase production in the Philippines. We are happy the money could help our innovators get closer to their goals.
Our Atlanta Kick-Off Parties Were a Success…
The Atlanta Meet-Ups have been fun!
….Our first event in Atlanta, held at Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant in Buckhead, was a big success last November with close to 70 participants. Since then, we have held small experimental meet-ups at private homes, in restaurants and at meeting centers. These meet-ups have been the source of spirited discussions on topics like failure and great sessions by guest speakers like Ladies Who Launch’s Angela Stalcup, who led attendees in exercises to articulate mission and vision statements. It has been awesome to experiment with ideas for chapters here in Atlanta. We are going to take our learnings thus far and officially organize a chapter model that will grow deeper in Atlanta and then spread around the world starting in early 2015. Stay tuned!
