Sara Liza Baumann combines her love for film, media and the arts with sound research, to tackle world issues that matter most. Right now, she’s curious about how people around the world cope with terminal illnesses. What healing methods do people living with AIDS in South Africa, cancer in Budapest or chronic diseases in Vietnam use?

“I have lived in the U.S. for 23 years, and 20 of those years I spent living in fear of being sent ‘home’ as an undocumented immigrant. The day after I received my legal resident status in 2008, I purchased a stack of tank tops and fabric paint and began my ‘Immigrant is not an F-word’ t-shirt campaign.”

She’s an activist, healer, teacher and performance artist – all rolled up into one.
